As a member of the educational team, GCCISD Social Worker Interventionists work collaboratively with members of the educational team to promote and support students' academic and social/emotional well-being through:
- Consultation
- Crisis Intervention/Counseling
- Community Outreach
- School-Community Liaison
- Identification, Development and Coordination of Resources/services
- Health Care community referrals (prescriptions, eye/ear /dental /medical)
- Community support services (i.e., juvenile justice services, Department of Family and Children's Services, etc.)
- Financial/economic assistance through community referrals (glasses, clothing, agencies for assistance with utilities)
- Family and Student Assessments
- Prevention/Intervention Strategies
- Mediation
- Home Visits
- Provide workshops, and trainings to schools, parents and communities on identified needs
- Supportive Counseling (individual, group)
- Agency Collaboration
- Brief Solution Focused Individual Counseling
