As a member of the educational team, GCCISD Social Worker Interventionists work collaboratively with members of the educational team to promote and support students' academic and social/emotional well-being through:

  • Consultation
  • Crisis Intervention/Counseling
  • Community Outreach
  • School-Community Liaison
  • Identification, Development and Coordination of Resources/services
  • Health Care community referrals (prescriptions, eye/ear /dental /medical)
  • Community support services (i.e., juvenile justice services, Department of Family and Children's Services, etc.)
  • Financial/economic assistance through community referrals (glasses, clothing, agencies for assistance with utilities)
  • Family and Student Assessments
  • Prevention/Intervention Strategies
  • Mediation
  • Home Visits
  • Provide workshops, and trainings to schools, parents and communities on identified needs
  • Supportive Counseling (individual, group)
  • Agency Collaboration
